We’ve introduced a smart enhancement to the loyalty program to ensure loyalty points are adjusted more accurately when partial refunds are issued.

What has changed:

Earlier, whenever an order received a partial refund, the entire loyalty points earned for that order were deducted from the customer’s account. This often led to situations where customers lost more points than the refunded value represented, which could cause confusion or dissatisfaction.

With this enhancement, the system will now automatically calculate the loyalty points to be deducted in proportion to the refunded amount, ensuring fair and precise adjustments.

How it works — Example Use Case:

Let’s say a customer places an order worth $100 and earns 100 loyalty points.

• Later, they received a partial refund of $40.
• Previously, the system would deduct all 100 points, even though only part of the order was refunded.
• Now: Only 40 points will be deducted, since the refund represents 40% of the order value.
• The customer will keep 60 points for the remaining $60 worth of the order.

This ensures that customers are rewarded fairly and your loyalty program remains transparent and accurate.
